# Meta ads MCP servers compared: official and others

> A Meta ads MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read and manage your Meta ad account. Meta's official server, at mcp.facebook.com/ads, has been in open beta since April 29, 2026; it reads and writes and creates ads paused. Pipeboard, Markifact, GoMarble, Windsor.ai and Adzviser offer alternatives.

## Which one should you pick?

**Choose Meta ads MCP servers if:**

- Choose Meta's official server if you want Meta's own tools, read and write, with ads created paused and confirmation before activation.
- Choose Pipeboard if you want an open-source-licensed server with a hosted free tier and paid plans from $29.90 a month.
- Choose Markifact, GoMarble or Windsor.ai if you want one MCP layer across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and more.
- Choose Adzviser if you want a deliberately read-only connection for reporting.

**Choose Tempomat if:**

- Choose Tempomat if you'd rather not wire an assistant to your ad account yourself: it is an app whose agent already uses MCP tools inside, with approvals by role.
- Choose Tempomat if you want Meta, TikTok, Google Ads and store orders in one chat with saved, scheduled reports.

## The options

| Tool | Best for | Pricing | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Meta Ads MCP server (official)](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/ads-commerce/ads-ai-connectors/ads-mcp-server/ads-mcp-server-overview) | Meta's own tools for any MCP-compatible assistant | No price listed on Meta's pages | Hosted at mcp.facebook.com/ads; open beta since April 29, 2026. Reporting, ad creation and management, catalogs, signals, help, A/B and lift tests, activity logs. Write tools create entities paused; your assistant asks before activation. Business owners can set rules on what agents may do (limited availability). |
| [Pipeboard meta-ads-mcp](https://github.com/pipeboard-co/meta-ads-mcp) | A widely used open repo with a hosted service and a free tier | Free (30 tool runs a week, 2 ad accounts), Pro $29.90, Premium $99, Agency $199 a month | Business Source License 1.1 (Apache 2.0 from 2029). Hosted server with 42 Meta tools; explicit confirmation on every write; new campaigns start paused. Sister servers for Google, TikTok, Snap and Reddit. |
| [Markifact](https://www.markifact.com/meta-ads-mcp) | A managed MCP layer with approval on every write | 200 credits at sign-up, then Pro $79 or Team $249 a month | Full read and write for campaigns, ad sets and image, video, carousel and catalog creatives; write operations stop for your approval. Also Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and GA4. Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Manus and Cursor. |
| [GoMarble](https://gomarble.ai/ai-tools/mcp/meta-ads/) | A free local read-only server, or a hosted multi-platform one | Open-source repo free (MIT); hosted Copilot $139, Operator $399, Scale $799 a month | The open-source server has 21 read tools and runs locally. The hosted service covers Meta, Google, Bing, LinkedIn, TikTok, Shopify, Klaviyo and GA4, with writes through a propose and approve step. |
| [Windsor.ai](https://windsor.ai/connect/facebook-ads-to-claude-integration/) | Teams already using Windsor.ai for marketing data | Free plan after a 30-day trial; paid from $23 a month; MCP on all plans | Can create, pause and re-budget campaigns with your explicit confirmation; new ad sets start paused. Connects 350+ data sources. |
| [Adzviser](https://adzviser.com/mcp/meta-ads) | Read-only reporting in Claude or ChatGPT | 14-day trial; Starter $48.99, Growth $148.99 a month | Deliberately read-only; combines Meta with other data sources. |
| [Tempomat](https://tempomat.tech/features) | An app instead of an assistant setup | From $49/month | Not an MCP server for your own assistant. Tempomat's agent uses its own Meta tool server inside the app and Meta's official Ads MCP for read-only benchmarks; campaigns are built paused and turning them on needs a person with the right role. |

Meta opened its official Ads MCP server in April 2026, and several third-party servers compete with it. This roundup explains what a Meta ads MCP server is, what Meta's official one does, and how the third-party servers differ. It is written by the Tempomat team; every fact comes from each server's own page or repository, checked on October 4, 2026.

## What is a Meta ads MCP server?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools on other systems. A Meta ads MCP server is one of those tool sets for Meta's ad platform: once connected, an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can pull reports, create campaigns or change budgets in your Meta ad account by calling its tools. For a longer explainer, read our [Meta ads MCP guide](https://tempomat.tech/blog/meta-ads-mcp).

## What does Meta's official Ads MCP server do?

Meta announced its ads AI connectors, an MCP server and an ads CLI, in open beta on April 29, 2026. The server is hosted by Meta at mcp.facebook.com/ads and works with any MCP-compatible assistant. Its tools cover seven areas: reporting, ad creation and management, catalogs, signals and datasets, help, A/B and lift tests, and activity logs. In July 2026 Meta opened it to developers with their own Meta app.

- **Write safety.** Meta's docs say write tools create entities in a paused state, and your assistant asks for confirmation before activation. The activation tool "starts spending budget".
- **Rules.** Business owners can block actions such as creating campaigns or raising budgets; rules through the API are in limited availability.
- **Access.** Sign in with Facebook Login for Business, a user token or a system-user token; you don't need your own Meta app. Meta says not every account has every tool yet.
- **Creatives.** Meta's pages disagree: the developer docs describe single-image link ad creatives, while its help page lists image, video, carousel and catalog formats.

## How do the Meta ads MCP servers compare?

*Meta ads MCP servers, as listed on their own pages on October 4, 2026.*

| Server | Hosting | Read or write | Price as listed |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Meta (official) | Hosted by Meta | Read and write | Not listed |
| Pipeboard | Hosted, or self-host | Read and write, confirmation on writes | Free tier; from $29.90/month |
| Markifact | Hosted | Read and write, approval on writes | From $79/month |
| GoMarble | Local (open source) or hosted | Local: read only; hosted: propose and approve | Free repo; hosted from $139/month |
| Windsor.ai | Hosted | Read and write, with confirmation | Free plan; from $23/month |
| Adzviser | Hosted | Read only | From $48.99/month |

## How do you choose a Meta ads MCP server?

1. Decide whether the assistant should only read, or also write. Read-only is the safest start.
2. If it writes, check that new campaigns start paused and that every activation asks you first.
3. Check who holds your token: Meta itself, a hosted third party, or your own machine.
4. Count your platforms. If you also need Google Ads or TikTok, a multi-platform server may beat several single ones.
5. Compare price against how often you'll use it: some plans cap tool runs or ad accounts.

## Are there TikTok and Google Ads MCP servers too?

Yes. TikTok's help center describes an official TikTok for Business MCP server that needs no developer credentials, with tools that include creating campaigns and pausing ad groups. Google's official Google Ads MCP server is open source and read-only in its current release, and you host it yourself.

## Where does Tempomat fit?

Tempomat is not an MCP server you plug into your own assistant. It is an app whose agent uses MCP inside: its own tool servers for Meta, TikTok, Google Ads and stores, plus Meta's official Ads MCP for read-only benchmarks and trends. Campaigns are always built paused, and turning one on needs a person whose role allows it. If you want to chat with your ad account without setting up a client, tokens and permissions, that is what it is for. See the [features](https://tempomat.tech/features) and [pricing](https://tempomat.tech/pricing).

## Is it safe to give an AI write access to your Meta ads?

It can be, with three guards: new objects created paused, a human confirmation before anything spends, and a log of every change. The official server and most of the servers above offer the first two. Start read-only, add writes once you trust the setup, and set rules on budget increases. Our [Facebook ads automation guide](https://tempomat.tech/blog/facebook-ads-automation) covers the approval habits that keep spend safe.

> **How we checked:** We read Meta's developer docs, help center and announcements, each server's own page or README, and its pricing page on October 4, 2026. MCP servers change quickly; check each one before you connect an ad account.
